Multi-disciplinary, science- led resource management plan for the rapidly diminishing forest cover on the dry land Mist Mountains of the (Asal) Arid and Semi arid lands of Kenya. The findings of the study were to be replicated for similar dry lands Mist Mountains in the Horn of Africa region. In 2009-20I0, Mr. Katelo was the Project Manager of MECOCO (Marsabit Environmental Conservation Consortium), a community project funded by the European Union through the Community Development Trust Fund. In this role, he was the custodian of all the project assets and funds and his core mandate was supervising and implementing the various community activities in the project areas according to the Financial Agreement entered into between the donor community and the beneficiary groups.

Mr. Katelo’s enthusiasm and keen interest in championing the cause of the marginalized rural communities of Eastern Africa, particularly the vulnerable women and youths, has now led him to dedicate his full time working for OPPF, Kenya Chapter, as the main focal representative.
